Hadfield Institute Student Charter

Hadfield Institute is committed to delivering a quality standard in all our services, from teaching and assessment, to student support, information, advice and guidance.

We passionately believe in equal opportunities for everyone and always strive to ensure that the needs of individuals are met within this inclusive framework.

We want all our students to feel an integral part of organisational life.

What you can expect from us

The Institute can sometime experience high levels of demand, but we never let this affect our “quality promise” to you. Responding to student letters and queries usually takes 4 to 6 working days, although some things may take longer. We strive to deal with urgent matters as quickly as possible.

Our staff and volunteers will treat you with dignity and respect. A student’s records will never be disclosed to a third party unless the student gives us permission to do so.

Every effort is done so that information about our courses, costs and qualifications is provided in a clear and accurate manner. To help you make informed choices we will tell you about opportunities at other learning centres across our region.

Upon joining Hadfield Institute students are allocated a timetable for the payment of their fees, and where applicable, we aim to publish details about any financial support that is available to students.

Hadfield Institute facilities such as careers information and advice, and the quiet study area, exist to give you as much support as you might need whilst studying at the Centre. Where a service falls outside of our remit, for example healthcare, we aim to direct you appropriately.

We are happy to provide our students with a confidential reference, progress or achievement report about their time with us.

What we expect from you

We expect you to attend classes regularly and on time.

Leaving your class without permission may result in disciplinary action and being suspended from the course.

If you have a child in the crèche, you must take your child with you in any instance where you may have to take unplanned leave from the Centre. Please let us know in advance if there are personal circumstances you think we need to consider.

We expect you to treat everyone - our staff, other students and clients - with respect and courtesy.

Our students are encouraged to work hard and be serious about their studies.

If you have a complaint, please do not hesitate to inform a member of staff who will be happy to help.
